I began my hair journey in 2006 by attending Paul Mitchell the School San Diego, where I later became a their color educator. After a few years assisting and behind the chair, I joined the Wella Platform Artist team and Saco Academy as a color specialist. While at Saco, I converted a European hairdressing curriculum to meet the state board standards for California. My time with Wella, developed my skills in public speaking and stage work. In 2015 I opened a boutique salon in San Diego by the name of Huxley Salon. This is where I truly learned my strengths as a coach as well as technical skills needed to build businesses. I am an incubator so to speak. My strength lies in motivating my peers to make huge leaps in business, structuring blue prints to execute a growth plan and in design.

Stylist after stylist came to my salon with little to no clients, whether they were new to our city or new to the industry. Time and time again I guided them in technical skill, emotional strength and business strategy to make huge leaps forward towards their growth. Within this timeframe I went through many changes, as I was the only manager of the business and lead stylist in the salon. When you work in and on your business, you develop a certain skillset that is unparalleled. While I wouldn’t recommend that route, its the fastest to personal growth. My favorite aspect of salon life (aside from the relationship development and business dev.) was designing, building, and decorating my salon. My father is a contractor, so i’ve growth up around men that build something from nothing, my whole life. That vision, passion and execution in building an entity from the ground up pumps through my veins.

Early 2019 I became a Human Assessment Specialist and certified practitioner through The ULT which allows me to coach my clients with a clear understanding of what motivates them, what is best for them, and with a roadmap to their best life circumstances. Being able to read a scientific measure of my client’s nature allows me to tap into their potential and to build up a skillset within them that may not be innate. It allows me to quickly determine relationship compatibility in business and personal life, therefore saving time when sorting through potential business partners or employees. The ULT also allows me to measure the wellbeing of each client throughout the process of building a business. As you know, big goals can come with a big cost, and it’s important to keep a close eye on your wellbeing while you stretch out of your comfort zone.

I am trained in trauma intervention, which offers a heightened ability to respond and guide you through triggering moments, in the moment. Growing your business, and building a salon can unexpectedly throw curve balls at you, staying calm in the face of adversity is a must for a coach. I know exactly how to navigate and troubleshoot, all while empowering you to master the uncertainty of entrepreneurship.

In October 2019 I opted out of my salon when my 5 year lease was up. This took a lot of courage because my identity was wrapped up in being a business owner. Who am I if I am not a salon owner? Turns out, with time and reflection…. I am a beauty industry coach. Someone who has walked down many paths of hairdressing, learned the hard way, made the mistakes, failed and recovered. I’ve invested in business development, marketing, human analysis and had first hand experience integrating all of it. I am here for you, I love taking part in and witnessing the growth of my peers. I am so excited to work with you on your next business + personal endeavor.

Sincerely,

Aubree Hill
